DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY, MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND CELL BIOLOGY
Faculty Positions

The Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Cell Biology seeks outstanding individuals with research interests that complement existing interdisciplinary strengths of the department. The department is an exciting research and training environment located on Northwestern’s Evanston, Illinois campus. The recent opening of the Pancoe/ENH Life Sciences Pavilion and the soon to be completed Silverman Hall are part of an ongoing expansion of the life sciences. We seek two positions at the rank of Assistant Professor and one position at open rank. We are particularly interested in the following areas:

  • Cell biology, including cell division, cell polarity and their regulation, cellular organelles and the secretory pathway, and the packaging and control of the genome. 

  • Biochemistry and biophysics, especially the use of cryo-electron microscopy/ tomography to investigate the structure and activity of multi-protein molecular machines.
