Welcome to the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Cell Biology at Northwestern University - otherwise known as BMBCB! The department is an intellectually enriching research and teaching environment where outstanding faculty work closely with postdoctoral fellows and graduate and undergraduate students to advance our understanding of diverse and complex biological processes. Research in BMBCB addresses problems not only in the core departmental disciplines of biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology, but also in genetics, developmental biology, structural biology, biophysics, reproductive biology, immunology and virology.
